How Many Sins Are Punishable By Death

Torchwood / Doctor Who: The conclusion

This is the fourth and final part of series Conversations . Jack is one thing to do, talk with Ianto.
I am not entirely happy with this last chapter, but I did not want to write a comparison between Jack and Alice (besides the fact that I was expressly forbidden:-P) and so many things left unsaid.

Dedicated to Joy, a friend and valuable beta:)

Ianto Jones was tired but had to end in order to put paperwork that had accumulated on his desk.
"Not mine, now that Jack is back," he thought with a hint of irritation even though he had agreed to occupy only duty. At least this time had no illusions, Captain had returned to his daughter, and there would be no misunderstandings.
- Always the last to leave the job? - Asked the object of his thoughts, taking him by surprise.
- Technically, that's always been you, sir, - answered quickly glancing ironically. It was easier to return to old habits that made us wonder what Harkness there when he left Alice with a couple of hours earlier.
Jack folded his arms and tilted his head to the side, taking on a vaguely hurt and he just say his name, stretching the vowels.
Ianto suppressed a smile. Regardless of what happened, some things never change.
- Jack, I have to finish here or you will not find anything in the coming days - without ceasing to move said alien artifacts and practices.
The captain came up, raising his arm in his direction, but something held him back and leaned against the desk.
- There is no rush, unless you do not intend to go, - said in a tone between the inquisitorial and the uncertain.
The young man looked sharp and indecipherable.
- I'm not an ungrateful and do not know what else I could do - convinced.
Jack winced, apparently annoyed ..
- We both know that with your qualifications and the recommendation of Martha may have a desk in any branch of UNIT.
Ianto stopped reordering documents and pointed him a glare.
- If this is the way you make me understand that I must give way to the next lover saves you the trouble. It does not take a genius to realize that you are no longer interested. But I think we could continue to work together as before, - a term now more disappointed that bothered by the conversation.
The captain clenched his fists and Ianto for a moment thought that he would hit. Instead gave him a strange look that she could not decipher. The young man looked down
, mentally preparing to accept the confirmation of his fears. When the silence lasted beyond expectations squared his shoulders and looked back at Jack.
- You're an idiot, - was all he said the other man, his eyes misty with a thousand emotions as he straightened up and went forward a step.
Ianto swallowed hard, unable to think rationally when he felt besieged by the physical presence of the captain.
- You have returned only to declare what is perfectly obvious to everyone? - Asked in a whisper.
- Someone made me believe that you needed me, but how you've organized I'm not so sure, - said with unexpected seriousness.
- I knew it. I was sure that I would never see again. But if he then asks you to change everything, right? You were always willing to do anything for him - he declared bitterly.
- Curse Ianto did not mean to come back. Not after your death.
The young do not understand.
- But I'm not dead.
Jack grabbed him and forced him to keep the attention fixed on her eyes troubled.
- Do not you understand? For me it happened. I've seen you dying in my arms. If the Doctor was not about to die himself, that would be the only existing reality!
There was such anguish in the voice of the captain to cancel any objection. All that remained was a need to cancel the unsustainable gap between them and comfort.
They moved together, uniting their mouths in a violent and desperate mind kiss the hands went up to caress her neck, hair, face, how to make sure it was not just an illusion.
Then, out of breath, Ianto leaned his forehead to the other man.
- I love you Jack.
gaze of the captain frowned for a moment.
- I know, you tell me before ...
He paused and smiled.
- Now I can tell you. I love Ianto Jones.
laughed and said: - more than you love your coffee.
